Legal Service Taxation Help

Certain benefits are subject to federal income tax, with the UAW-GM-Delphi Legal Service Plan being one of those. In the past, couples where both worked for either GM or Delphi were subjected to double taxation. During the 2003 National Contract Talks, this issue was remedied.

If you and your spouse are employed by GM or Delphi, you can make notice of dual coverage to eliminate this extra taxation. Call 1-800-521-7818, ext. 517 to declare dual coverage. This must be done before Friday, October 08, 2004. All changes are effective November 5, 2004.
