Local 2195 |
| Local 2195 was organized in 1982.
At the time, our site was the largest non-union shop within General Motors.
However, a concentrated effort by those interested in union representation
saw the victory through. Today, we are 2500 members strong, and have established
ourselves as a strong body of today's UAW. Our union hall is located across from the plants, in southern Limestone County, of North Alabama. We are active in the community, with our many committees doing volunteer work for a number of area charities. We have a labor library within the hall, which is utilized each year for the annual essay contest sponsored by the Alabama State CAP and Alabama-Mississippi Area Women's Council. Our local is active in the public schools, and a trusted friend to the Morgan and Limestone County Offices of the United Way. We are part of Region 8 of the International UAW, with Gary Casteel being our Region Director. Executive Board
