The annual Local
2195 Picnic was held June 16, 2007 at Point Mallard Park in Decatur. The
membership was well represented as a large number turned out for the event.
The evening proved to pleasant as the crowd enjoyed the water park, food,
music, friendship and prizes on a nice summer evening.
The Local 2195 Recreation Committee did another great job of planning
the event and worked very hard to make certain that everything came off
perfectly as planned. This membership extends our thanks to them for another
job well done.
The picnic presented an opportunity for our many retirees to get together
for mini reunions as hundreds of old friendships were renewed and a lot
of catching up occurred.
A large number of area merchants once again donated door prizes that made
for the highlight of the evening. “We want to extend our thanks
to everyone who made this picnic such a success,” states Local 2195
President Vaughn Goodwin. “The Recreation Committee, the musicians,
the caters, the staff at Point Mallard, the Decatur Police Department
for providing the security and last but not least the merchants who donated
the prizes. Our local once again was supported by this group of local
business who has been unwavering in their assistance. I would encourage
you to remember these folks when making purchases of your own.”
