Essentially two
thirds of Local 2195 members will qualify for one of the retirement- attrition
packages currently being offered by Delphi to reduce the size of their
workforce. That leaves a number of Alabama Site employees in the situation
of making a decision to either staying here or flowing back to GM. GM
has committed to the UAW to provide a flowback opportunity to everyone
who wants to flow by September 2007.
Flowing back is a decision that each person must make on their own. There
is no one size fits all answer to this question, because everyone’s
situation is different. Making the decision to flowback means much more
than just picking a new job; it also means choosing a new community to
live in.
To assist those employees considering flowing back with their decision,
the Local 2195 website is offers the following research material for those
plants expected to have openings. The information includes facts on the
plant and communities in which they are located.
