The Greater Tennessee
Valley Car show was held July 10, 2004 on the Alabama Site grounds. This
was the 17th annual Car Show, with Lynn Layton Chevrolet, UAW Local 2195,
Family Security Credit Union and Delphi Corporation sponsoring the event.
Over the past several years the show has grown into the Tennessee Valley’s
largest display of antique cars, trucks and motorcycles. This year the
record fell again, as over 900 vehicles were registered for the event.
Singer Michael Dean wooed the ladies in the crowd with his Elvis imitation,
while the guys were glued to sights of muscle cars, classics and sports
cars of all types. The morning was beautiful with sunny skies, as the
crowd walked the grounds. Later in the afternoon the clouds floated and
dumped a quick shower on the proceedings. However, the rain went away
just as quickly as it came leaving the day to sunny skies.
“We want to thank all our sponsors, especially Lynn Layton Chevrolet,”
states Doug Poole, one of the organizers for the event. “They have
supported us for years and we appreciate it. We had a great day with a
record number of cars, trucks and bikes. I would also like to thank all
our volunteers who came out to help make the show a success. Everyone
had a great time and we are looking forward to the 2005 edition of the
Tennessee Valley Antique Car and Harley Davidson Show.”
