The
winners in the 2004-2005 UAW Archery Club Big Buck Contest were recently
announced. The Big Buck Contest is held each year, with the winner being
determined by the number of points. In cases of a tie, the spread of the
rack is used. Only deer killed in Alabama and Tennessee are eligible in
the contest. Only Local 2195 members are eligible to enter the contest.
This year’s winners are:
1st Place – Barry Kimbrough 12 point with 14 inch spread
2nd Place – Jerry Case 10 point with 21 inch spread
3rd Place – Jerry Hampton 10 point 17 7/8 inch spread
4th Place – Doug McCaig 10 point with 13 ½ inch spread
5th Place – James Gibson 8 point with 13 ¼ inch spread
“We had some great entries in this year’s contest and we appreciate
everyone who took the time to enter,” states Archie Watkins of the
UAW Local 2195 Archery Club. “We would also like to thank Terry
Scruggs and Joe Border at the union hall for checking in the deer. Congratulations
to all the winners.”
